Registration of Untracked 2D Laparoscopic Ultrasound to CT Images of the Liver Using Multi-Labelled Content-Based Image Retrieval

چکیده

Laparoscopic Ultrasound (LUS) is recommended as a standard-of-care when performing laparoscopic liver resections it images sub-surface structures such tumours and major vessels. Given that LUS probes are difficult to handle some iso-echoic, registration of pre-operative CT has been proposed an image-guidance method. This problem particularly challenging due the small field view LUS, usually depends on both manual initialisation tracking compose volume, hindering clinical translation. In this paper, we extend approach using Content-Based Image Retrieval (CBIR), removing requirement for or initialisation. Pre-operatively, set possible planes simulated from descriptor generated each image. Then, Bayesian framework employed estimate most likely sequence simulations matches series images. We our CBIR formulation use multiple labelled objects constrain by separating vessels into portal vein hepatic branches. The value new labeled demonstrated in retrospective data 5 patients. Results show that, including untracked time, single image can be registered with accuracies ranging 5.7 16.4 mm success rate 78%. Initialisation could potentially enable translation these fusion techniques.

2D Image Registration in CT Images Using Radial Image Descriptors

Registering CT scans in a body atlas is an important technique for aligning and comparing different CT scans. It is also required for navigating automatically to certain regions of a scan or if sub volumes should be identified automatically. Common solutions to this problem employ landmark detectors and interpolation techniques. However, these solutions are often not applicable if the query sca...

Image retrieval using the combination of text-based and content-based algorithms

Image retrieval is an important research field which has received great attention in the last decades. In this paper, we present an approach for the image retrieval based on the combination of text-based and content-based features. For text-based features, keywords and for content-based features, color and texture features have been used. Query in this system contains some keywords and an input...

Hybrid Feature Point Based Registration of 2D Abdominal CT Images

Liver lesions like abscess, cirrhosis, metastases etc usually appear globular with gray levels differing remarkably from that of the surrounding liver region but the boundaries of these lesions are poorly defined and give an approximate picture of the extent of invasion of the lesion into surrounding regions. Choice of feature points and their matching in the images under consideration is cruci...

Content-Based Retrieval of Images Using Pre-determined Image Classes

Image databases have applications in digital libraries, radiological image archives, satellite imagery for earth resources, law enforcement, etc. The huge data sizes of images, the enormous number of images in a typical image database, coupled with the inexact nature, and subjective interpretations have called for content-based retrieval systems. Fast and accurate retrievals are crucial for suc...
